Gennembrud for andre-sprogede forfattere i Danmark

 

Herboende forfattere, som skriver på andre sprog end dansk, kan nu også søge arbejdslegater i Statens Kunstfond på lige fod med kolleger, som skriver på dansk.

Det er resultatet af en principsag, som ligebehandlingsnævnet netop har afgjort. Forfatteren Dina Yafasova, der har boet i Danmark siden 2001, søgte i februar 2011 et arbejdslegat i Statens Kunstfond, men fik afslag med den begrundelse, at hun ikke opfyldte kravet om at have skrevet sine værker på dansk. De er skrevet her i landet og udgivet her, men oversat fra russisk.

Dina Yafasova, medlem af bestyrelsen for Dansk PEN, bad Ligebehandlignsnævnet tage stilling til sagen. Og nævnet har nu besluttet, at “Statens Kunstfonds Litteraturudvalg har handlet i strid med forskelsbehandlingsloven i forbindelse med uddelingen af fondens midler i 2011.”

Det er Dina Yafasova meget lykkelig for. “Jeg håber også, at andre forfattere med udenlandsk baggrund kan få gavn af afgørelsen”.

Litteraturudvalget vil fremover fortolke dansk litteratur sådan, at den skal være skrevet på dansk eller “af forfattere bosiddende i Danmark, som udgiver på dansk og som har væsentlig betydning for dansk litteratur og kultur”.

Anders Jerichow, formand for Dansk PEN, siger, at “afgørelsen bringer Danmark på omgangshøjde med vores flersprogede virkelighed”.

“Sproget er forfatteres meget følsomme arbejdsredskab, som man ikke bare kan udskifte med andre sprog i et snuptag. Det er et livgivende bidrag til dansk kultur, at forfattere fra andre sprogområder lever og skriver deres værker her. Og det er opmuntrende, at deres litterære arbejde nu ligestilles med andre forfatteres herhjemme”.

Dansk PEN mener, at afgørelsen også må få betydning for tildelingen af biblioteksafgifter i Danmark. Hidtil har herboende forfattere, der ligesom Dina Yafasova — er fast bosat her i landet, været afskåret fra biblioteksafgifter. “Det er indlysende urimeligt”, siger Anders Jerichow.

“Forfattere, der bor og skriver og udgives her i landet – mange af dem danske statsborgere ligesom Yafasova — og som udlåner deres bøger på danske biblioteker, må selv sagt have samme vederlag for biblioternes udlån. Deres og bøgernes publikum er dansk. Det er for mange af forfatterne en dyr og tung – men nødvendig – proces at få deres bøger oversat. Og det ikke mange biblioteksafgifter, vi taler om. Men det er et vigtigt spørgsmål om ligestilling og anerkendelse”.

Dina Yafasova flygtede fra Usbekistan til Danmark i 2001. Hun debutterede i 2006 med ‘Dagbog fra Sandholm’ og har i 2011 udgivet den roste ‘Kald mig ikke offer’. Begge er oversat fra russisk.
